Importance of Termite Bonds in South Carolina

So, you’re buying a home in the great state of South Carolina – congratulations! I’m sure one of the reasons you’re moving here is the weather. Winters here are mild and a little wet – this means the ground doesn’t freeze. While that’s great for late-blooming flowers and outdoor plants, it’s not so great if your house is made of wood. Termites in South Carolina don’t take the winter off; they might be less active than in the spring, but they never really go away.

A graduate of New York Law School, Dennis is a certified circuit court mediator, former president of the Carolina Forest Civic Association, former president and chairman of the Board of Directors for the Coastal Carolina Sertoma Club as well as a member of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Property Taxes in South Carolina: 4% vs. 6%

In South Carolina there is an annual property tax on real estate that is a major source of revenue for counties and the state; revenue from property taxes is used to fund public schools, emergency services, public libraries and other county and state services made available to the public. Property tax bills are calculated by multiplying the Fair Market Value by the assessment ratio, which is then multiplied by the millage rate. There are actually two different assessment ratios at which real estate can be taxed: a 4% primary residence rate and a 6% secondary residence or investment property rate.

A former high school teacher, assistance football coach and Charleston School of Law grad, Chris Digby joined MGC’s Charleston office in 2018 with a eclectic background. In 2019, he took his practice to Summerville – opening the firm’s eighth location. Chris is the president of the Summerville High School Athletic Club, and a member of the Coach Louis Mulkey Scholarship Committee, Summerville High School Improvement Council and South Carolina Basketball Officials Association. Dennis DiSabato Jr. Joins MGC’s Real Estate Practice in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – McAngus Goudelock & Courie is pleased to announce the addition of Dennis DiSabato Jr. to the firm’s real estate law group.

Dennis has been in practice for over a decade and is very well connected in the real estate community in Horry County.  We are very excited to have him join us to help grow our practice in the Myrtle Beach Area.  We look forward to increasing our presence in the region through his efforts,” said David Ross, managing attorney of MGC Real Estate.

DiSabato’s practice focuses primarily on residential and commercial real estate closings. Prior to joining MGC, he worked at a general practice firm with a focus on residential and commercial real estate transactions, estate planning and estate administration as well as general and business litigation. DiSabato earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University. He is a Horry County Councilman for District three in Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest and a member of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Formerly, he presided over the Carolina Forest Civic Association and is a past president and chairman of the Board of Directors for the Coastal Carolina Sertoma Club.
