What does Black History Month mean to you?
“Black History Month is a time to reflect on the struggles as well as the achievements of Black people. I’m reminded of the struggles that we still face even today. I love that we have Black History Month, especially in schools. Most people know about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks but I challenge people to learn about other Black people who have helped to shape this world, both from years ago as well as current. My favorite movie about Black people is Roots. Although it is long, it is instrumental and heart breaking at the same time. I challenge everyone to learn something new about black people and feel free to share it with me.”
