A Message from Jay Courie, Managing Member
June 25, 2015

It is with heartfelt sympathy that McAngus Goudelock & Courie mourns the loss of those killed in the horrific shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. In particular, we are moved by the courage and compassion shown by the families of the victims at this time of tragedy. We are inspired by their words and actions and keep them in our daily thoughts and prayers.

MGC will not support any act or symbol that divides or hurts people. No citizen, student, business person, tourist or passerby should feel unwelcome or threatened by this divisive symbol as they pass or visit our State House. We applaud our courageous government, business and community leaders in their call to bring down the Confederate flag.

We are proud of how our citizens have come together to heal, stand up for what is right and set an example for the Nation in the midst of this terrible tragedy. In this spirit, we ask our legislative leaders to act immediately and remove the flag from our State House grounds.
